DISCRIMINANT

Discriminant helps you identify how many solutions you have in your equation, and instead of solving for "x" you are solving for "d" the "Dicriminant"

The "Discriminant equation" is taken out from the quadratic formula which is "b^2-4ac". When you subsitude your numbers from your standard form equation into the discriminant formula and solve. In the end, you will come to three solutions...

If the discriminant is greater then zero, your equation will have two solutions

If the discriminant is zero, your equation will have one solution

If the discriminant is under zero "a negative number", your equation will have no solutions
