Quadratic Function

Once you have found your equation in vertex form, the rest of this process is simple. To first begin, start with your normal parabola's vertex (-1, 7) (blue). Then, use the step pattern to plot the transformed points. To find the next point you will go one right/left and 1 up, next points 1 right/left and 3 up, make sure you modify the new points with the "a" value as well by multiplying the y-value of every point by 3. At the end you will have your new parabola (blue). (Always have your equation written above your parbola which is drawn in a round end with arrows pointing with the direction of opening.
